Bringing your second baby into this world is incredibly exciting and nerve-wrecking at the same time. As a mommy, you’re worried about whether or not your baby, now toddler, is going to be able to adjust. You’re worried you won’t be able to spend as much time with your first as he/she needs you to. You’re worried your first will feel left out when everyone comes to visit your new baby. You’re worried you won’t have enough love in your heart for both – after all, you already love your first with every single ounce of love you have in your heart.
You’ve always wanted another baby, but now, as time gets closer to your dreams coming true, you can’t help but worry.
Maybe these worries aren’t true with every mother, but I know they were true for me. Bringing baby number two into our family was scary. I wasn’t sure I was ready for my ‘baby’ to move into ‘big boy’ status…in order to make room for our newest addition.
I promise you, even though your worries are valid, bringing number two into your family will be one of the best decisions you’ve ever made.
First of all, you’ve done this before. Those new mommy jitters are gone, making everything just seem a little easier than it was the last time!
Second, although the adjustment period may be a little challenging, eventually you’ll be sitting on the couch one day, watching both of your babies laughing and tickling and playing with each other — and you’ll think to yourself “what was I worried about? These two were made to be siblings.”
Third, that heart you felt was full before — somehow becomes even fuller. Remember when you became a mom for the first time? When you felt that love that you never knew could exist? Well, think of that love doubled. It is unlike anything you have ever imagined!
Fourth, the money, the unfinished nursery, the living arrangements…anything you’re currently worried about as you bring your newest addition into this world – it will work itself out. Every single thing is going to be alright. Not only will it be alright, but everything will be better than you ever imagined it to be!
When the time is right, the world will be right — and you’ll realize you’re one of the luckiest people on the planet! You’re a mommy – and nothing is better than that!
